Graduated from the University of Sussex. James has more than 20 years’ experience as a writer, editor and journalist. His work has been published across four continents and he writes on an eclectic range of subjects – from international relations to technology to literature.
Having lived in Taiwan since 2001, he has worked as a writer and editor for Taipei Times, South China Morning Post and the Diplomat, among other publications. He has contributed material for numerous educational publishers, including Caves and Cengage. Following two years as the English editor at the TaiwanICDF, under Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, James spent a further four years as the head editor of Biz, one of several magazines produced by ESL publisher LiveABC.
James has two teenaged sons, a cat and an elderly guinea pig. He credits his ability to craft outstanding personal statements, SOPs and cover letters to his mother who was a secretary at NATO and early taught him the importance of impeccable communication skills.
